{"id":308,"date":"2021-11-14T17:08:34","date_gmt":"2021-11-14T17:08:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/belle2.ijs.si\/public\/?page_id=308"},"modified":"2023-10-29T13:11:21","modified_gmt":"2023-10-29T13:11:21","slug":"light-quark-antiquark-events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/belle2.ijs.si\/public\/home\/quark-colors\/examples\/light-quark-antiquark-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Light Quark\/Antiquark Events"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There\u2019s a huge number of possible light quark\/antiquark events, so it makes sense to distinguish these from <a href=\"https:\/\/belle2.ijs.si\/public\/home\/quark-colors\/examples\/tauon-antitauon-events\/\">tauon\/antitauon events<\/a> and &#8220;heavy&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/belle2.ijs.si\/public\/home\/quark-colors\/examples\/b-anti-b-quark-events\/\"><em>b<\/em>-\/anti-<em>b<\/em>-quark events<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case of <strong>three or four tracks<\/strong> one can use, that light <strong>don\u2019t characteristically decay<br>into one plus three tracks like the \ud835\uded5<\/strong><sup><strong>+<\/strong><\/sup><strong>\ud835\uded5<sup>\u2212<\/sup> events<\/strong>. Additionally, they usually produce fewer neutrinos, so they typically have <strong>less missing energy<\/strong>. Furthermore, light quark\/antiquark processes are usually <strong>less straight<\/strong> than \ud835\uded5<sup>+<\/sup>\ud835\uded5<sup>\u2212<\/sup> events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case of <strong>five to eleven tracks<\/strong> one can distinguish light quark processes from those with heavy <em>b<\/em>-quarks, because the light quark events are usually <strong>a lot straighter<\/strong> than <em>b<\/em>-\/anti-<em>b<\/em>-quark events.
